Grand day out in the Lake District walking up Harter Fell. The day started out with walking up through the fog, which well and truly hid what we were about to see.

As we were slogging up the hill, we were reminded of the Carretera Austral, that we cycle toured on some years ago. Rough, steep and stony “path” they called a “main” road, at least we didn’t have the relenting wind.

When we got up above the fog it, we were treated to some amazing views over the Lakes and even towards North Pennines.

If your ears are good enough you can hear the small water fall in Gatescarth Beck, the dog racing past me and some tweeting birds.
