I can sit and stare at a fire for hours on end, love the dancing flames, colour, smell and the warmth. Now and again gentle poking the fire with a stick, this is one of my Zen moment.
I also enjoy is when the fire in the stove is dying down and the cast iron starts to sing/ping as it is cooling down. You can hear the draw of the air after I have open the vents full, the embers are going into full forge mode.
